    • Two wrecks are just minutes and feet apart

    • A pair of wrecks just a few minutes and a few feet apart caused no injuries on Friday, June 22. The first accident occurred when semi truck driver Reginald Harden, 39 of North Carolina, pulled his 2011 Kenworth semi and trailer for Trans Am Trucking behind the Coyote County broadcast building at First and New to rest after the end of his shift and caught a cable on the trailer. The cable broke off a power pole in the fence enclosed area around the broad cast tower. Crews from the city light department came and disconnected the cables. Harden and the truck were not injured. As the city trucks were leaving, Karl Christmann, 41 of Wichita was west bound on First Street in a 2012 Ford Focus when Melisa Allen, 44 of Pratt, was north bound on New Street and failed to yield in a 2010 Chevy Tahoe. She pulled across the intersection hitting the front end of the Ford with the right front fender of the Chevy. The Chevy suffered some scrapes but no other damage while the Ford suffered damage to the front end of the car. Neither driver was injured in the accident.
