- Semi snags cable, knocks out power
- Posted Aug. 30, 2012 midnight
- An EVCO semi trailer snagged a cable as it pulled into the parking lot at Legends. The cable was pulled so tight it caused a power pole to crack and bend allowing electrical wires to hang low enough to be a safety risk. The truck driver and passenger stayed inside the truck until Pratt Electric Department disconnected the power. Once the power was off, the line was cleared from the truck that made its delivery to Legends then left. However, the power to several businesses west of Park Street including Legends, Verizon Wireless, the strip mall beside Famous Servateria and the servateria were all without power for about three hours while city crews replaced the pole and installed new electrical lines between the pole by the street and the new pole.
