    • Township 12 firefighters made quick work of small grass fires in the ditches on both sides of the road at SE 30th Street about a half mile west of the Glendale Church on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The cause was unknown but a dragging chain throwing sparks may have been the culprit, said Township 12 Fire Chief Mark McManaman. Only the grass in the ditches and one small cedar tree were burned in the fire.
