Miss Paradise Valley Laura Voran

Laura Voran knows business and she also knows unique.
This senior business administration major at Fort Hays State University has won numerous academic honors in high school and college.

She also has a second toe that is a half an inch longer than her great toe, she dyed her hair red for two years to be Miss Kitty in Dodge City, helped her father deliver calves and drove a combine.

With a goal of doctorate in business administration, Voran wants to use her skills with finance to help educate young people to start saving at a young age and develop good financial habits.

Miss Midway Shelbie Smith

•Age: 18
•Hometown: Macksville
•School: Macksville High School
•Talent: Pop jazz dance
•Platform : Join 4-H

Shelbie Smith is so busy some people might think there is two of her and they would be right.

She is a twin and very active in 4-H holding various leadership positions, was cheerleading captain plus co-captain of the dance line.

Besides being an All-American Cheerleader she lettered in cheerleading, dance line, forensics, cross-county, track and competed at state in track, cross-country and forensics.

With her sights set on going into agribusiness, she has seen first hand the benefits of 4-H and wants students to get involved so they can learn by doing and achieve their goals.
