The Pratt Community College volleyball team failed to capitalize on lessons learned at the New Mexico Military Tournament last weekend.
Instead, the Beavers looked as if it was their first outing of the year when they traveled to Huchinson on Tuesday. Pratt dropped the match 25-16, 25-16, 25-19.
“There really isn’t much I can say about a match like that,” said Head Coach Patrick Hall. “Our passing was simply atrocious. We are still very much in the process of finding a productive lineup, and despite our performance last night, I’m confident that we’ll look like a much different team by mid-season.”
Katerin Trejos led all hitters with 9 kills, hitting .615. She also had 3 aces. Melissa Woods had 4 kills in 6 attempts.
PCC will play in the Frank Phillips Tournament in Borger, Tex., this weekend. Their first match is schedueld for 8 a.m. Friday against Clarendon. Matches follow against Seminole State at 11 a.m., Trinidad State at 2 p.m., and Frank Phillips at 5 p.m.
The tournament continues Saturday.
Pratt’s home opener is on tap for Wednesday, Sept. 3, with Barton County providing the opposition. The first serve is on tap for 6:30 p.m. at the Beaver Dome.
