The Pratt Community College softball team picked up a pair of Jayhawk Conference wins Friday night, but finished the weekend with a pair of losses in Sunday’s doubleheader.
On Friday, the Beavers swept Fort Scott (3-11, 2-8) 5-2 and 11-8 at Angood Field in Lemon Park. Those games were originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, and they were moved up a day to miss the weekend rain.
Complete details on those games were not available at presstime.
On Sunday, Pratt lost both games to eighth-ranked Johnson County (14-4, 8-0), falling 7-4 in the first game and 6-3 in the second.
Four Pratt errors in the top of the first helped Johnson County race to a 5-0 lead in game one.
Lety Perez had a single and a home run for PCC, and freshman shortstop Ashley Shell also had two hits.
Alyssa Ramirez took the loss, giving up eight hits in seven innings.
Johnson County scored a run in the second and three in the third to take a 4-1 lead in game two.
Pratt managed just four hits in the second game, with Shell having two of them. Charyse Arnold and Holly Thielen each had a single in the game.
Bre Beckerman took the loss, scattering ten hits in seven innings.
The Beavers are now 9-17 on the season and 4-4 in conference games.
