The Kansas State High School Activities Association has announced that Pratt High School was honored with one of the Class 4A?Boys State Basketball Tournament sportsmanship awards.
A rating system is used allowing schools at the state tournaments to compete against a standard of excellence rather than against each other for the sportsmanship awards.
A special sportsmanship committee appointed by KSHSAA evaluated and rated the cheerleaders, school cheering section, adult and non high school followers, team and coach of each school.
Schools participating in all three days of the state tournaments were eligible to receive a plaque for their school and medals for the cheerleaders, while certificates could be earned by teams that did not advance to the semifinals.
Pratt, Ottawa, Kansas City—Sumner and Coffeyville—Field Kindley were selected to receive plaques and medals from the Class 4A?Boys State Tournament, held March 10-12 in Salina.
