After blowing by Barclay 4-1 on Tuesday, and then Neosho 5-1 on Thursday, the PCC men's soccer team qualified for the post-season in the Beavers' first year as a program.

Pratt could not maintain its momentum in a 4-0 loss to Garden City on Monday, but that did not dampen their spirits heading into the playoffs.

Monday’s match was a tough game for Pratt, facing another playoff team in Garden City (11-2-2). The BroncBusters managed two goals in each of the period, winning 4-0. However, Beaver coach Kevin Kewley was still pleased with his team’s effort qualifying for the playoffs.

“This had been a complete team effort,” Kewley said. “and to make the playoffs in our first year is a tremendous achievement. I’m quite proud of the lads.”

On the women’s side of things, Pratt lost a close match 2-1 to move to 2-11-1 on the season.

Pratt got a goal from Nikki Sprinkle in the 42nd minute of the first half to tie things up, but Garden City retook the lead shortly after the intermission.

The Lady Beavers travel to Butler Co. to play a match Wednesday at 4 p.m.
