Jerry Dean Garwood, 64, of Salina, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010. He was born July 7, 1946, in Longford, the son of Frank and Donnis Hileman Garwood.


Jerry Dean Garwood, 64, of Salina, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010. He was born July 7, 1946, in Longford, the son of Frank and Donnis Hileman Garwood.

Jerry was a welder for Roberts Industries, Salina. He owned and operated Jerry’s Welding in Pratt, and was a machinist for the Raytheon Aircraft Corp. in Salina. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral; 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; Assistant Scout Master for Troop Seven; and he was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife Maryglyn of Salina; a son, Weston of Salina; a daughter, Erin Zaragoza of San Diego; two brothers, Donald of Marganville and Richard of Nacagdoches, Texas; one sister, Cindy Grover of Salina; three granddaughters, Maddison, Olyvia and Braxtyn.

There will be a Gathering of Friends from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at 136 S. Clark, in Salina.  Cremation was chosen and Jerry’s ashes will be scattered at sea. 

Memorials are to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center, 511 S. Santa Fe, Salina. Ryan Mortuary is in charge.
