Charges could be filed this afternoon or tomorrow against a suspect involved in a domestic incident at 703 N. Oak in Pratt on Wednesday.

Pratt City Attorney Ken Van Blaricum said he expects to receive the police reports today and will file formal charges, probably of the domestic violence type, against the suspect as soon as he has reviewed the information.

Police were summoned to the North Oak residence with a report of a domestic incident. Upon arrival officers removed a child on the porch to a patrol unit as a matter of caution until they could determine what was happening, said Acting Police Chief Gary Myers.

An adult female tried to exit the house but the suspect, an adult male, pulled her back into the house. Later the female left the house on her own without incident and was taken to a patrol car.

As a routine matter, she was asked if there were any weapons in the house. She said there was a shot gun but at no time was the shot gun ever involved in the situation and the suspect was never seen with a shot gun or a weapon of any kind, Myers said.

Telephone contact was made with the suspect and he walked out of the house of his own accord and spoke with Police Lt. Robert Walker. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Myers said.

Van Blaricum said he would not release the suspects name until charges had been filed.
