After a successful weekend in Colorado two weeks ago, Pratt High senior Taylor Baird continued his string of postseason success at the Kansas Senior Classic in Topeka this past weekend.

Baird was scheduled to wrestle the 5A champion Dylan Penka, but instead wrestled 3-2-1A two-time champion Landon Keiswetter of Norton. The format was supposed to be large class against small class, but in this case didn’t work out.

Baird was scheduled to wrestle the 5A champion Dylan Penka, but instead wrestled 3-2-1A two-time champion Landon Keiswetter of Norton. The format was supposed to be large class against small class, but in this case didn’t work out.

Baird won 7-5 against Keiswetter, but his win didn’t count towards the dual score because it featured two small-school wrestlers against each other.

This was the final tuneup event for Baird as he prepares for Senior Nationals in Virginia Beach this coming weekend.

If Baird can finish in the top eight at the event, he will be honored as an All-American.
