A group of 17 runners gathered at the Pratt Friends Church Christmas Eve morning for a 7:30 a.m. fun run.

Rev. Mike Neifert organized the event that was open to anyone who wanted to participate. One runner, Ryan Kendall of Haviland, came over from Kiowa County to participate in the event.

No entry fee was required and the only requirement was all runners had to wear a Santa hat or some other seasonal hat during the run. Most wore Santa hats but a jester’s hat and a hat with a snowman’s face were also part of the race wear.

With the temperature in the low teens, the group of 17 runners left the church on Maple Street and headed west to Main Street where they turned south down to Sixth Street then east several blocks and finally back to the church.

The event was just for fun and for members of the church to get to spend some time together doing something unusual on Christmas Eve.
