  • James “Jim” Melvin Tucker, age 66, died July 21, 2012 at his home in St. John. He was born on Feb. 8, 1946 in Stafford, the son of Melvin A. and Ellen E. Branham Tucker.

  • James “Jim” Melvin Tucker, age 66, died July 21, 2012 at his home in St. John. He was born on Feb. 8, 1946 in Stafford, the son of Melvin A. and Ellen E. Branham Tucker. 
    A life-long resident of St. John, he was an oil field worker and case manager for Rosewood Services, Great Bend.  Jim was in the US Navy and a member of the American Legion. 
    On Sept. 20, 1970, he married Donna M. Blanding at St. John. She survives of the home.
    Other survivors include a son, Craig Tucker and wife Amy, Pratt; two daughters, Cathie Haberman and husband Chris, Great Bend and Karen Weaver, St. John; a sister, Barbara McKinzie, Pensacola, Fla.; stepmother, Dorothy Tucker, St. John; sister-in-law, Della Tucker, St. John; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Rance, Christi, Calan, Shelby, Harley, Catie, Bryna, Audrey, Gannon, Callie and many other family members.
    He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Gary Tucker.
    Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with Rodney Lyons presiding.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.  Visitation will be on Monday from 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
