Pratt High School girls golf coach Kerry Thieme welcomed seven prospective players to practices this week.
Senior Taylar Fuhr, as the returner with the most experience, will be looked to for leadership.
Juniors on the squad include Morgan Schmidt and Sara Clemens. Lauren Beardsley is the lone sophomore on the team.
A trio of freshmen round out the roster: Shelby Richards, Kayla Baer and Charity Violetti.
Coach Thieme feels that the Greenbacks are showing promise for being so early in the season.
"The girls are learning quickly," she enthused. "We have just had a couple of days of instruction, but their swings are already looking pretty good. They are the most improved group of girls I've ever had after the first week. They're eager to learn, they don't have any bad habits in their game."
Thieme will be assisted this year by new teacher and coach Kyle Farmer. The first meet will be August 30 hosted by Nickerson, and held at the treacherous Highlands.
