The Skyline volleyball team took care of business very efficiently on Tuesday night in the Thunderdome.
The Lady T-Birds dispatched Burrton and Central Christian without dropping a set.
Scores against Burrton were 25-5 and 25-17. Against Central Christian, the Thunderbirds won by counts of 25-13 and 25-15.
Head coach Summer Younie was pleased with her charges efforts. "The girls did a nice job," she said. "We were without Harley (Weaver) our librero some as she was battling the flu, so Alyssa Swonger and Shelby Bender got to play all the way around."
"They (Swonger and Bender) served and defended well," Younie continued. "This was a good time to test their back row skills since the pace of the game was a little slower."
Other positives Coach Younie took from the matches included getting an opportunity to practice their quicker offense and the amount of energy displayed by the girls.
"We tend to show signs of high energy," Younie explained, "but it never lasts for an entire match. Last night the girls kept that focus and energy for two entire matches, so that was good to see."
The Lady Thunderbirds will host another triangular Tuesday September 11 against Medicine Lodge and Norwich. The Norwich match will be big.
