  • The Skyline Thunderbirds hosted 15 schools at a cross country meet Thursday. Skyline's girls team finished in second place despite missing their lead runner, Brooke Fisher, who is nursing a leg injury.
    Haven won the girls meet with 15 points to Skyline's 44.

    Finishers for the T-Birds varsity girls:

    19 Allison Sanders 20:34
    22 Katelyn Kumberg 20:42
    25 Abby Giles 21:50
    Freshman Roman Ibarra had another good race, taking the third place medal in the varsity boys race in a time of 18:58.
    Skyline's boys did not field a full varsity squad. Chaparral scored 32 points to nip Haven (40) for the boys team title.
