James 'Jim' W. Zeltner, age 70, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Pratt Regional Medical Center. He was born March 9, 1942 in Richmond, Mo., the son of James R. and Roma Irene Swetnam Zeltner.
Jim moved to Pratt in 1968 as a reporter for the Pratt Tribune and later was editor and wrote the Lefthand Corner column. He served in the Army, was a member of the First Christian Church in Pratt, and the Amateur Radio Club and his call sign was WB0OAO. Jim served over 20 years as a volunteer fireman and retired from the City of Pratt where he was a power plant operator and city inspector.
On March 18, 1962 he married Cuma M. Vinson at Gt. Bend. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Christine B. Zeltner and husband Marty Johnson of Kansas City, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lynann Quattlebaum.
