The Skyline Thunderbirds crosscountry team participated in the Pratt Invitational Thursday at 6th Street Park.


The Skyline Thunderbirds crosscountry team participated in the Pratt Invitational Thursday at 6th Street Park.
Roman Ibarra was the lone T-Bird varsity boy entrant. He medaled finishing 8th in a time of 18:36.
The girls team finished 4th in the 12 school meet with 64 points.
Again leading the way for Skyline was Megan Pyles (11th 17:54).
Joining Pyles on the medal stand were Katelyn Kumberg (18th 18:59) and Patty Ibarra (19th 19:13.)
Madison Moore finished 23rd in an even 20 minutes and Abby Giles was the next finisher (24th 20:25.)
Skyline normally fields a full 7-girl squad, but Brooke Fisher is still sidelined and she was joined on the injured list this week by Allison Sanders.
Two T-Bird girls competed in the JV race, both medaling. Ascha Lee ran 20:55 to take 6th and Miranda Ghumm got 8th with a 22:17.
A trio of Skyliners ran in the JV boys race, working together as a pack to finish 4, 5 and 6. Colin Kumberg, Khaleb Cason and Lucan Cason finished in 21:01, 21:10 and 21:13, respectively, to capture medals.
Next Thursday, the T-Birds harriers travel to Medicine Lodge to compete in their final regular season meet.
