  • The Skyline Thunderbirds crosscountry team participated in the Pratt Invitational Thursday at 6th Street Park.
Roman Ibarra was the lone T-Bird varsity boy entrant. He medaled finishing 8th in a time of 18:36.
The girls team finished 4th in the 12 school meet with 64 points.
Again leading the way for Skyline was Megan Pyles (11th 17:54).
Joining Pyles on the medal stand were Katelyn Kumberg (18th 18:59) and Patty Ibarra (19th 19:13.)
Madison Moore finished 23rd in an even 20 minutes and Abby Giles was the next finisher (24th 20:25.)
Skyline normally fields a full 7-girl squad, but Brooke Fisher is still sidelined and she was joined on the injured list this week by Allison Sanders.
Two T-Bird girls competed in the JV race, both medaling. Ascha Lee ran 20:55 to take 6th and Miranda Ghumm got 8th with a 22:17.
A trio of Skyliners ran in the JV boys race, working together as a pack to finish 4, 5 and 6. Colin Kumberg, Khaleb Cason and Lucan Cason finished in 21:01, 21:10 and 21:13, respectively, to capture medals.
Next Thursday, the T-Birds harriers travel to Medicine Lodge to compete in their final regular season meet.
