  • Noelle Holmes continues to improve following a two-vehicle accident Sept. 20 at U.S. 281 and U.S. 50.
Holmes was awake for most of Sunday afternoon. She was able to blink in response to questions and indicated she could hear, said her father Rep. Mitch Holmes on www.facebook.com/PrayersForNoelle.
Mitch asked if she wanted him to read to her and she responded with a blink. He read two Bible chapters.
Family and friends are invited to keep up with her condition and offer encouragement on the Facebook page.
Holmes was injured when she was on U.S. 281 and pulled on the highway in front of a semi on U.S. 50. The semi struck the Holmes vehicle on the passenger side causing the vehicle to rollover once in the ditch and come to rest upright.
The accident site is 2.5 miles south of St. John.
She was unconscious for several days following the accident. She is at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
