Claribel Deda, 89, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt. She was born Nov. 20, 1922, at Billings, Okla., the daughter of Ben and Clara (Newman) Waggoner.
Claribel graduated from Billings High School in 1940 then moved to Ponca City and Oklahoma City. She married George Deda Sr. in 1949. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 36 years in Ponca City and Oklahoma City before moving to Pratt in 1999.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Amy House and husband Tyson of Isabel; one grandson, Addam Deda and wife Katie of Pratt; and four great-grandchildren, Brayton and Bryson Fletcher, Jacob and Allison Deda.
She was preceded in death by one son George Deda Jr.; her parents; three sisters, Zenna Wright, Bernice Harmon, Cleta Bucholz and one brother, Cecil Waggoner.
Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt with the Rev. Jan Blasi presiding. Private family inurnment will be at the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Ponca City, Okla.
