  • Misty Arnold will soon be officially named as the new head volleyball coach at Pratt Community College. Although not officially under contract yet, she is already on the job.
Following the sudden and abrupt departure of Brian Dickens earlier in the season, Kelley Maydew served as interim coach until a permanent replacement for Dickens could be found.
That replacement is Misty Arnold. She comes to PCC off the staff of Hutchinson Community College (and former PCC) coach Patrick Hall. Maydew will stay on as an assistant.
On Saturday, the Pratt Community College volleyball team picked up a win by besting Frank Phillips (TX) in a 5 set thriller.
Pratt won the first two games 25-17 and 26-24  but Frank Phillips controlled the next two games 25-18 and 25-14.
In the deciding set it was PCC in a 15-13 nailbiter to send the Lady Beavers to the winner’s circle for the first time since mid-September.
On Wednesday, PCC traveled to Concordia and swept Cloud County 3-0. Scores in the dominating performance by the Lady Beavers were 25-19; 25-19; 25-15. PCC had  earlier beaten the Clouds at home in Maydew’s debut.
The Beavers are now 7-17 (3-7 conference). Their next scheduled match against Seminole was this Saturday, but has been cancelled. Therefore, PCC next hits the hardwood vs. Barton County Tuesday, October 16 for a 6:30 p.m. match in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena.
