  • It was a friendly grudge match at Skyline Monday as SHS head boys basketball coach Steve Little faced off against his son, former T-Bird Curtis Little who is now coaching at Otis-Bison Middle School.
Steve instilled the love of sports in his son from a young age. “My father taught me passion for the games,” Curtis explained. “I have been into sports ever since I was small. He was my biggest influence growing up.”  Steve was Curtis’ coach in many youth sports, everything from football and basketball to baseball and track. Curtis would play about any sport there was growing up, and likely as not, Steve was his coach.
Both were excited about coaching against one another for the first time. “I’ve been looking forward to this since last summer,” Steve said.
“It should be fun,” Curtis predicted. “I have learned a lot from him over the years. I’m looking forward to showing him what I’ve learned.”
Both agreed that Steve is the more competitive of the two. “I’m a yeller,” Steve explained, while Curtis claimed to be the more relaxed of the two.
As to the outcome of the game, it was not completed as press time.
