In a rematch of a game the Liberty Middle School 8th graders won handily to open the season, Andale hung with the Greenbacks a little better the second time around. Still, on Monday, LMS8 were able to post a 32-20 victory at home to keep their unbeaten streak intact.
“Andale did a good job of slowing down the game and limiting our possessions,” analyzed LMS head coach Andy Kisner. “Even so, we were able to stretch a 5 point halftime lead to 18 midway through the 4th quarter by pressing fullcourt.”
With the big lead late, Kisner was again able to find minutes for the bench who hung on to secure the win by a dozen points. “This was the first game in the last four outings that we have had all of our roster available, so we were a little out of synch,” Kisner explained. “But we got solid play throughout the line-up, and again we got good minutes from Devan Stephens and Drew Roadhouse.
The Pratt 7th graders suffered another defeat , 45-27 to the Andale Indians. Brandon Detwiler and Landon Studer each had 8 points to pace the Junior Greenbacks.
The Larned Indians come to town on Thursday to challenge the Greenbacks in the only non-league tilt of the season for the Liberty Middlers.
