Wayne was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army Air Forces from 1943 to 1946. Wayne was a Jeep dealer in the Medicine Lodge and Pratt area until moving in 1968 to Mesa, Ariz., where he worked in the recreational vehicle field, eventually owning his own dealership.
