Winifred "Winnie" Robins, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at South Wind Hospice, Pratt. She was born on Aug. 2, 1922, in Spokane, Wash., the daughter of George Oliver Kildow and Alice (Grim) Kildow. She married Charles M. Robins on Sept. 21, 1950, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Winnie was a published writer of both travel/art and poetry books. She had her first poem published at age 5. Winnie was also an artist, painter, jeweler, photographer, and an avid gardener. She and her husband lived in Saudi Arabia from 1974-76 where she acquired many of the materials used for her jewelry and experiences used for her writing. Winnie traveled extensively and loved learning about other cultures. She moved to Pratt in 1997. She was very active in PEO Chapter F, the Community Concert Association, Coterie, and an enthusiastic volunteer and participant in many community groups and activities.
Surviving are one son, Ross Robins and wife Jennifer of Pratt; two daughters, Martha Wickman and husband John of Casper, Wyo., and Ruth Paz and husband Victor of Escalon, Calif.; one brother, John Kildow of Couer d'Alene, Idaho; one sister, Suzan Goodban of Fair Oaks, Calif.; 10 granddaughters, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 45 years.
