  • Two drivers escaped injury Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle accident on north U.S. 281 between 70th Street and 80th Street.
Michael Carmichael, 66, was northbound in a 1999 GMC Sierra pickup pulling a small flat bed trailer when the trailer started to fish tail.
Nicole Griffith, 28, was traveling southbound in a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup and corrected to avoid hitting the trailer while Carmichael also corrected to avoid hitting the Ford, said Pratt County Sheriff's Deputy Cole Schmidtberger.
But the trailer was swinging too wide and hit the Ford in the driver's side front wheel assembly. The GMC did not hit the Ford.
Both vehicles continued down the highway with the GMC and trailer stopping, right side up, in the east ditch and the Ford stopping in the southbound lane.
The Ford suffered heavy damage to the right front of the vehicle while the trailer was heavily damaged along with the passenger side rear quarter panel.
Neither driver was injured in the accident.
