  • On Thursday, Feb. 7, Pratt Community College will proudly host Bill Keller, president of Stanion Wholesale Electric Co., Inc. Keller is the recipient of the 25th annual Boyd Davies Executive-in-Residence, a program that was developed to connect PCC students and Pratt community members with prominent businesspeople in the community.
Keller grew up on a farm in northwest Kansas, and was no stranger to the hard work necessary to make a company function. Keller, a graduate of Kansas State University in 1972, and a University of Kansas law graduate in 1975, has been employed by Stanion Wholesale Electric since 1978. Keller met Stanion’s daughter, Cindy (Stanion) Keller, while he was a student at KU. The rest, as they say, is history.
In 1978, he assisted in moving Stanion into their then-new warehouse in Lawrence, where he became the assistant manager. Keller moved to Pratt in 1982, and became the president of Stanion Wholesale Electric Co., Inc. in 1990.
“I learned about work pretty early, like everyone did on farms,” Keller said. “For me personally the most rewarding part of my job is the people that I work with.”
Keller took over the Stanion Electric Company, which was owned by his father-in-law Jud Stanion in 1990.
The Executive-in-Residence festivities will begin at 10 a.m. and will be as follows: President’s Coffee, 10 a.m. and Convocation in Carpenter Auditorium, 11 a.m.
The Boyd Davies Executive-in-Residence award has been presented for the past 25 years at Pratt Community College, and has been received most recently by Bob and Becky Eastes, Paul Hayse, and Gary and Daryl Trimpe.
For more information on the Executive-in-Residence program, please contact Junnae Landry, accounting and business instructor, at 620-450-2152.
