  • Area Girl Scouts are starting cookie booth sales this weekend. Eight varieties can be purchased for $3.50 per box. Or, customers can donate cookies through "Cookie Shares" which are distributed to one of four organizations: the Military, the Kansas Food Bank, Catholic Charities or a local food bank.
Junior Girl Scout Troop 50270, is working to send 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to the U.S. Military, by selling cookie shares.
Daisy Girl Scout Troop 50170 are planning to use some of their cookie money to purchase leashes and supplies for the Pratt Area Humane Society. Each of the girls in the troop has set a goal to sell at least 200 boxes of cookies.
Their first cookie booth of the season will be in front of the Dan Gillig - State Farm Insurance office at 516 E 1st Street. A special guest from the PAHS will be present at the Valentine's themed cookie booth Saturday, Feb. 16th from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. An adoptable dog will be supplying kisses for anyone brave enough to accept "a slobbery valentine smooch of thanks."
