Pauline A. Eckell went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 16, 2013, at the age of 96.

She was a very precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed having all her family around her, especially the little ones. She will be greatly missed. She was very active in her church, sewing quilt tops for church missions, and holding several offices in the Ladies Aide. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She also sang in the church choir for many years. She loved to cook and have family dinners at her house where everyone thought her cooking was the best!

Pauline was born April 21, 1916, northwest of Cheney, on the family farm. She was the youngest of 12 children of William Henry and Minnie Maria Scheunemann Bomholt. Pauline attended the one room Evan Mound School until the 8th grade. She cared for her mother until 1941.

Pauline married Herman Lionel Eckell on Oct. 20, 1943. They were farmers near Sawyer for 40 years before moving into Pratt in 1983. In 1969 Pauline began working for Friendship Manor as a C.N.A. and was in medical records until her retirement in 1987. Herman passed on May 6, 1993 at the age of 91.

To this union was born their only child, a daughter Linda Sue. Linda and her husband Charles Bishop survive her. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Maria Lankford (Mark), Harrison, Ark., Mark Bishop, Pratt, Jarrod (Nicole) Bishop, Pratt, Justin (Tiffany) Bishop, Wichita, and Travis (Jenni) Bishop, Hutchinson; six great grandchildren, Aubree Lankford, Bryson, Quentin, Kolton, Katelynn, and Rileigh Bishop and eight nephews, three nieces and a host of great nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, William, Albert, Carl, John, Ambrose and Harold Bomholt; and five sisters, Francis Melady, Theresa Pike, Marie Bomholt, Helena Bomholt, and Beatrice Meyer; and eight nephews and six nieces.

Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at St Paul Lutheran Church, Natrona, with the Rev. Michael Schotte presiding. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
