The Pratt Community College baseball team prevailed 14-3 in a slugfest on the road over Northwest Oklahoma (Alva) on Monday.
After an initial slow start with the lumber in which they only scored 3 runs total in their first three games, PCC’s offense has piled up 25 runs in their last two contests.
The beavers led in the early going but coughed up the lead in the middle innings only to rally for 3 runs in the 9th to go ahead. Daniel Tockhorn pitched a scoreless bottom of the 9th to pick up the save.
The victory brings the Beaver record to 2-3 on the season with the next game being Wednesday at home against Bethany. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Stanion Field.
On Tuesday, the Pratt Community College softball team swept a doubleheader from the Barton County Lady Cougars on the road.
Scores were 7-5 and 14-10 as the lady beavers were able to get the bats going.
With a record of 4-6, PCC is next scheduled to play at Garden City on Thursday.
