  • Two more events qualified for state championships for Pratt High Forensics at the Kiowa County Invitational Tournament held on Saturday, Feb. 16th in Greensburg.
In a stronger showing this week, junior Quiana Pico earned the gold for her serious solo act, while juniors Evan Fowler and Cole Fincham struck silver for their improvised duet act (IDA).
While the team pulled in fifth out of 19 teams, it still managed to place a few more medals. Fincham and Fowler once again brought home hardware with their comic duet act, while Anna Stryker placed sixth for her informative speech about an Atchison "haunted" house.
In addition to medaling, the team saw several successes. Novice David Schotte received a "I" in Round I of Extemporaneous Speaking, and varsity Garrett Johnston, Dustin McGraw, and Johnathon Hurt all showed strong performances with their I's in IDA and prose.
Adding to the team's points were Delaney Skaggs, Lauren Voss, Miranda Flemming, and Corbyn Crump.
