Theme offers opportunities for community to join the party.
Plans are well underway for one of Pratt County's largest summer events, the Pratt County Fair. This year's Fair is scheduled to take place July 17-20. The theme committee has already been busy and this year they are going to "Party Til the Cows Come Home."
There will be "party" opportunities for all member of the community, so start planning now to take part in the 2013 Pratt County Fair.
Students in grades kindergarten through fourth grade will get the first chance to participate in a theme contest when coloring contest pages are delivered to their schools in late April. The winners will be displayed in the hallway of the Exhibit Hall.
Area photographers will be asked to find an animal friend to photograph. This year the committee is asking for photos of either a pet or farm animal that is showing off our party theme, the cuter the better!
The foods superintendents will be looking for appetizer and cupcake entries in their department. If you have a favorite appetizer or want to decorate a fun cupcake, please enter it in the special theme contest.
Quilters will be excited to learn that the quilt block contest will return and they will be asked to construct a block related to the theme using two provided fabrics. The quilt block kits will cost $3 each and will be available in April.
Finally, there will be a chance for even the youngest to participate at the Fair. Be sure to look for a special craft corner in the Exhibit Hall where youngsters can make their own party hats!
Winners of the contests will be selected by both judges and the public, and prizes and ribbons sponsored by the Pratt County Fair Association will be awarded. So plan now to attend and take part in the 2013 Pratt County Fair and join us as we "Party Til the Cows Come Home."
