Julie Elizabeth Scheef and David Cody Dick were united in marriage Oct. 20, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Salina. The ceremony was officiated by Father Frank Coady.

Parents of the couple are Bill and Deb Scheef, Salina, and Roger and Fran Dick, St. John. The bride is the granddaughter of Beverly Ziegenbein and the late Neal Smith of Ashland, Neb., and the late Mary Kay and Wally Scheef of Gretna, Neb. The groom is the grandson of Loretta Billinger and the late Edwin Billinger of WaKeeney, and the late David and Evelyn Dick of Burrton.

The maid of honor was Katie Whelchel, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Jen Carlson, cousin of the bride, Molly Kennedy, Kaely Jackson and Andrew Scheef, brother of the bride. The flower girl was Aubree Whelchel, niece of the bride.

The best man was Travis Litton. Groomsmen were Shayne Aldridge, Vance Fisher, Shane Stimatze and Jason Taylor. Ring bearer was Weston Peterson, nephew of the groom.

Ushers were Tyler Alpers, Jeremy Dick and Lucas Dick, cousins of the groom and Brent Peterson, brother in-law of groom. Candle lighters were Emilee Whelchel, niece of bride, and Rylee Whelchel, nephew of the bride. Ceremony musicians were Perfect Fifth Quartet. Vocalists were Valerie Sullivan, aunt of the bride, and Jason Taylor.

A dinner and reception followed the ceremony at the Masonic Center in Salina.

The bride graduated from Jewell High School and McPherson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She earned a master's degree from Emporia State University in instructional design and technology and is currently a middle school math teacher in Pratt.

The groom graduated from St. John High School and Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural technology management. He is the corporate sales manager for BTI's 4-store John Deere dealership.

The couple resides in St. John.
