Anna (Hardie) Stimatze passed into the waiting arms of the Lord on April 15, 2013 at the age of 96. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Minnis Chapel in St. John. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery in Macksville.
Anna was born on Aug. 1, 1916 in Stafford County, the daughter of Henry and Mira (Rodman) Hardie.
Anna married Cheever Paul "Brownie" Stimatze on Feb. 14, 1940, in Pratt. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker all her life.
Survivors include sons, Bill and wife Carol, Montrose, Colo., and Roger, and wife Thresea, Conifer, Colo.; daughters, Rose Edwards and husband Bill, Stillwater, Okla., Imogene Poteet and husband Ray, Perry, and Dorothy Shuckakosee, Lawrence; sisters, Carman Hanson, Walnut Creek, Calif., and Merrit McNamee, Pearl, Miss.; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Anna in death were Brownie, her husband of almost 60 years; son, Leonard; daughter, JoAnn Roberts; sisters, Violet Thomas and Goldie Green; and brothers, David, Lowel and Earl.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of donor's choice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
