The Pratt High School Booster Club is hosting its annual athletic banquet on Monday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pratt Municipal Building. All are invited to attend. Tickets for the evening are $12 and can be purchased at the door. Catering the banquet is Hog Wild.
The evening is free to all PHS athletes and will feature guest speaker and Pratt native, Jeff McEntarfer.  Jeff graduated from Pratt High in 1994, and during his senior year was a captain for the Football, Basketball and Tennis teams.
He was a unanimous first team all-league quarterback selection his senior season, and a three-time state qualifier in tennis finishing 5th his junior year and 3rd his senior year. He also played baseball for the American Legion team in the summers under legendary coach, Smoky Ford.
After high school, Jeff graduated from Fort Hays State with a degree in finance and an emphasis in financial planning. He moved to Los Angeles in 1999 and lived there for 12 years before moving to Virginia Beach, VA in 2010. For the past 13 years he has worked for the American Funds, one of the three largest mutual fund companies in the country.
Jeff founded a company called JJD Sports in 2003 that focuses on full-contact youth football camps with a camp in Pratt every summer for the last 11 summers. During this time, Jeff has had the opportunity to work with numerous professional athletes, such as Nick Collison, Darren Sproles, Daniel Thomas and Mark Simoneau, as well as sports agents from around the country.
Jeff is married with two young children: a daughter Dylan, age 6; and a son Drew, age 4. He’s coaching both of their soccer teams, and sports continue to be a large influence in his life on a daily basis.
The event is hosted by the PHS Booster Club, which has worked diligently to raise funds and meet the needs of the athletic department. Annual Booster Club activities include the following: organizing the fall feed and membership drive, painting the “frog feet” around the school and Zerger Field, hosting various hospitality rooms for different sporting events, planning and hosting the Tournament of Champions, arranging the annual Hog Roast on Winter Homecoming evening, and sponsoring tonight’s banquet. Funds raised from the membership drive, the Tournament of Champions and other activities are returned to Pratt High athletic programs.
Because of the outstanding continued support from members and Pratt area businesses, the Booster Club has once again been able to meet many of the requests brought before the group.
The Booster Club has helped with expenses for Cheerleading camp, provided supplies for hospitality rooms, water and Gatorade for cross country, provisions for the fall feed, and a new scorers table at LMS.
Be sure to come to the Athletic Banquet to support Pratt high athletics, to honor the senior athletes and to hear Jeff McEntarfer speak.
