Pratt High School is pleased to announce Jamie Cruce has been selected as the new head football coach for the Greenbacks. Coach Cruce was formerly the head coach for Bethany College in Lindsborg Kansas.
A 1998 Bethany alum, Cruce played football for the Swedes under Hall of Fame coach Ted Kessinger. He also played at Hutchinson Community College where he was a linebacker. Cruce is a Salina native and a graduate of Salina South high school.
Before returning to coach at Bethany, Cruce coached linebackers at Northern State (SD) and Anderson University (IND). He became the Swede’s head coach in 2007 after serving as their defensive coordinator since 2001. He resigned his position as Bethany head coach following the 2012 season “to pursue other professional opportunities.”
Cruce’s record at Bethany was 28-34 with a 21-33 slate in the KCAC. His best season was 2011 when his Swede’s posted a record of 8-3 (6-3 conference.)
"After an extensive search which including two days worth of candidate interviews, our search committee in confident Coach Cruce is the right man to take our program in the direction we want to go," said Curtis Nightingale, athletic director of Pratt High School.
Coach Cruce will begin working immediately meeting with players and coaches, as well as planning camps and programs for this summer.
