Daryl L. Staats, 79, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Pratt Regional Medical Center in Pratt. He was born July 21, 1933 in Pratt, the son of Ralph and Jessie (Scott) Staats. Daryl worked at Staats Conoco Service Station, Staats Fina, and later retired after working for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elk's Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion all in Pratt.
On Sept. 5, 1953, he married Chloe Ann Arnold at St. Petersburg, Va. She died March 4, 2011.
He is survived by a son, Duane Staats, Wichita; two daughters, Teresa "Terry" Staats and partner Lisa Moreland, Wichita, and Jean K. Staats Armstrong, Pratt; a sister, Donita and husband Raymond Funk, Broken Arrow, Okla.; grandchildren, Dylan Armstrong, Pratt, and Emily and husband Adam Dixon, Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his, parents, his wife Chloe, and a brother Willis Duane Staats.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Thursday, May 16, at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, where family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m, Friday at First United Methodist Church, Pratt, with Dr. Dan Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt, with military honors provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
