  • The investigation continues into an accident Monday afternoon south of Pratt County Veterans Memorial Lake that destroyed one pickup and damaged another vehicle.
Gary Fulton, 47 of Stafford was westbound on SE 20th Street in a 2001 Chevy Suburban when he rear-ended a 1993 Ford Ranger driven by Gratton Odell, 23 of Coldwater who was also westbound. The accident took place just before the road curved into SE 25th Avenue that is a mile south and a half-mile west of the lake.
The impact caused the Ford to roll on its side and catch fire, destroying the vehicle, said Pratt County Sheriff Vernon Chinn.
Odell was not injured in the accident. Fulton and his two passengers, 23-year-old Nathan Kaltenbach and 37-year-old Joseph Gilmore, both of Pratt were all not injured although the Suburban also rolled and was heavily damaged in the wreck, Chinn said.
Fulton, Kaltenbach and Gilmore then left the scene in the Suburban that was still drivable and was eventually located in Stafford.
The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate this incident that occurred at 1:50 p.m. on Monday, May 20. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed in this case at this time.
