  • James H. Frisbie Jr., 90, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt. He was born Dec. 1, 1922 in Stafford, the son of James Hubert and Bette (Duncan) Frisbie.
    He served in the Army during World War II, and obtained the rank of staff sergeant. Junior fought in the Battle of the Bulge, was captured on Dec. 22, 1944 and was a prisoner of war in Germany.
    He owned Jim's Repair Shop in Iuka for over 20 years.
    On March 15, 1944 he married Evelyn E. Miller at Pratt. She died July 20, 2012.
    He is survived by a son Terry (Linda) Frisbie, Dodge City; two daughters, Kay (Dan) Gifford, Kechi, and Connie (Mike) Buchner, Rocky Ford, Colo.; two brothers, Don, Nevada City, Calif., and Eldon, Millbrae, Calif.; a sister Bette Allen, Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
    He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a grandson, Tracy Buchner; one brother, Dale Frisbie; and two sisters, Lucille Lanning and Velma Berg.
    Visitation will be 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the mortuary with Chaplain Jerry Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.
