Ray O. Schwab, 63, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his home in Turon. He was born Aug.3, 1949 in Bakersfield, Calif., to George and Mary (Pennel) Schwab. Ray was a mechanic. He was of the Mormon faith.

Ray was currently serving as the Mayor of Turon.

He married Annette Marlow Nelson on Nov. 27, 2011, at Turon. She survives.

He is also survived by father, George, and a son, A.J. Nelson, Turon; seven daughters, Sue McQueen, Hutchinson, Hope Schwab, Hutchinson, Bonnie Crawford, Wichita, Mary Friend, Neosho, Mo., Annette Ruiz, Hutchinson, Loretta Townes, Wichita, and Tammy Peterson, Texas; four brothers, Joe, Rusty, Andy and Kenny; four sisters, Georgia Bennett, Roxanna Schwab, Dorothy Marlow and Sandy Schwab; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Schwab Imel; stepmother, Marie Schwab; and a granddaughter, Grace Friend.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 31, at the Turon Community Center with Pastor Mike McGovney presiding. Burial will be in the Sego Cemetery, Reno County. There will be no visitation. The casket will be open prior to service.
