MANHATTAN — Darcie Anne Barker, 60, of Manhattan died May 14, 2013, in Manhattan.
Darcie was born March 25, 2013 in Great Falls, Mont. She graduated from Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany, received her Associates Degree from Pratt Community College in 1975, and her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Kansas State University in 1982.
She was a faithful supporter of the American Heart Association for many years. She worked at Pratt Clinic and Stanion Wholesale Electric in Pratt, and then later for Mercy Regional Hospital for 34 years, first in medical records and then in risk management.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in law, Otto and Cheryl Levin of Kensington, and Glenn and Deb Brannon, of Big Sandy, Texas; her nine adoring nieces and nephews; ten great-nieces and nephews; and her aunt and uncle, Melba and Richard Scott of Pratt. Her beloved fiancé, Larry Blanton preceded her in death, as well as her father and mother, Dorsey and Drusilla Barker all of Manhattan; a brother, Gary Barker, and grandparents, GC and Susanna Barker and Oscar and Blanche Norby, all of Pratt.
There will be a memorial service at Mercy Regional Hospital, 1823 College Ave, Manhattan on June 7 at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt at 4:30 p.m.
