  • Pratt Well Service earns safety award

  • Pratt Well Service, Inc. was recently awarded the Bronze Award for Group II at the 2013 AESC Safety Awards held in Tucson, Ariz. AESC is the Association on Energy Service Companies, a highly respected and recognized trade organization representing oil and gas well service companies throughout the U.S. and overseas.
    Gerald Newby, Pratt Well Service, Inc. safety director accepted the award on behalf of the over 57 employees at the Pratt-based company. Group II is based on 75,000-150,000 man-hours.
    "Operating nine oil and gas well service rigs, Pratt Well Service, Inc.'s diligence toward safety has been a top priority" remarked Newby, adding "operating other auxiliary equipment including an air foam unit, down hole video well inspection services, and hydrovac excavation trucks, and other oilfield related services, has widened our safety scope because of all the mechanical features and moving parts."
    Newby has been employed by Pratt Well Service, Inc. for 25 years working in a variety of positions including well service crew member and rig operator.
    "Gerald's oilfield background and focus is what makes PWSI's safety program one of the best in the industry," said Kenny Gates, president of Pratt Well Service, Inc. Gates served as the AESC president in 2005 and 2006.
