  • The annual member-guest tournament was held this past weekend at Park Hills. Despite a slightly smaller-than-average turn-out due to the date being pushed forward a couple of weeks, the tournament was a huge success according to Andy Kisner, one of the tournament organizers.
Practice rounds were played Friday along with horse-race preliminaries. On Saturday, flights were established through a round of 18 holes (8 scramble, 8 low-ball and 2 alternate shot), and later the horse-race finals were concluded. On Sunday, the finals of flight play were contested, and flight prizes and hole prizes were awarded. In addition, several delicious meals were provided to the contestants throughout the weekend.
Winners of the championship flight were the team of Eric Larrison/Brad Lunsford with a two-day total of 128. John Stineman/Darren Stineman and Dru Lammle/Ray Hitt each shot 130 to tie for 2nd.
First flight was a 3-way tie at 138 between Bill Skaggs/Tony Ginest, Jamie Hitt/Jason Conkle and Shumway/Burns.
Knotted at the top of 2nd flight with 139s were Mathes/ Mathes and Brian Meyers/ Kevin Biles. Mason/Mason took 3rd with 140.
Another tie resulted in 3rd flight: Danny Meyers/Martin and Tiesing/Shumway had 148s. Peters/Dressel shot 150 to take 3rd.
CL Meigs rode Jeff Logan to victory in the horse race. “Place” were Larrison/Lunsford and Andy Kisner/ Rod Snyder finished “show”.  Hole prizes were too numerous to mention. The putting contest results were deemed a matter of national security and therefore not released to the public.
Overall, the weather was spectacular, the course was in splendid shape, everyone got enough to eat, and a fine time was had by all. It’s possible a member-guest tournament will be held again next year.
