A Pratt couple have entered a national contest, hoping to get a free paint job on their 1920s Craftsman house at 338 N. Ninnescah.

Deborah Stegman found the link for a Behr Paint contest on Facebook, and on the last day, decided to enter. The company narrowed the hundreds, if not thousands of entries to 20, she said, and their house is included. The winner will be determined by popular vote.

The winner gets their home prepped and painted by the Behr company, along with an expert color consultation. Rick and Deborah Stegman bought the house in 2012, and she said while the previous owners did a good job of maintaining it, the plain white house is "screaming for color that is true to the craftsman style."

There are two Kansas entries — the second in Columbus, and "Randy (the owner) is blowing us out of the water" with more than 1200 votes. Still, the Stegmans are not last, so she's hopeful.

Three first place winners will receive $1,000 worth of free paint, along with the consultation. Five second place winners get only a color consultation.

"I'll take any of them," Stegman said. "Just picking colors is a huge decision.
