Linda Lorraine Percival Waller, 67, died Aug. 31, 2013, at her home in Pratt. Linda was born March 3, 1946, in Hardtner, as the first child of Vona Alice and Melvin Eugene Percival.

A childhood resident of the Medicine Lodge area and resident of Pratt for the last seven years, she was a former bank teller and currently employed by Home Lumber in Pratt. She was a very active volunteer with South Wind Hospice thrift store and Hospice House in the past and currently enjoyed her days volunteering at Pratt Regional Medical Center.

Linda was raised in Medicine Lodge by her uncle and aunt, Carl and Wanda Melkus, after the tragic loss of both her parents at the age of 12. She graduated from MLHS in 1964. Linda married David Leroy Waller June 1964 and over the next 18 years they moved around the country before moving back in 1982 with their three children, Carla Sue, Lori Ann and Thomas David (Davy). Linda spent the last seven years of her life living in her own home in Pratt with her loyal canine companion Bandit. She made many friends and truly enjoyed her volunteering.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vona and Melvin Percival; her adopted parents, Carl and Wanda Melkus; and daughter Carla Hawkins.

She will be deeply missed by daughter Lori Eshelman of Medicine Lodge; son-in-law Donnie Hawkins of Medicine Lodge; son David Waller and wife Michelle of Jindalee, Queensland, Australia; 11 grandkids, five great- grandkids; sisters, Barbara and husband Fred Geary of Medicine Lodge and Betty Jo Mitchell of Woodward Okla.; brother, Stanley Percival of Helena, Mont.; many nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Community Bible Fellowship, Medicine Lodge, with Pastor Danny Baker officiating.
