  • Dennis Dean Hatzenbuehler, 92, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt. He was born Jan. 10, 1921 in Pratt, the son of Henry and Theresa (Sloan) Hatzenbuehler. He was retired from the US Navy and was a bailiff at the Pratt County Courthouse.
    He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, was a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus, was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge, both in Pratt.
    On Oct. 24, 1942 he married Phalba C. Christian at Corpus Christi, Texas. She survives.
    Other survivers include a son, Dennis Dean Hatzenbuehler, Ridgecrest, Calif.; five daughters, Bonnie Lee Weihe, Wichita, Mary Ellen Fezell, Grandview, Mo., Melinda Ann McLean, San Diego, Calif., Melissa Hatzenbuehler-Beck, Vashon, Wash., and Phalba C. Dillard, Franklin, Ky; one brother, Vincent Hatzenbuehler, California; one sister, Rosamon Almon, Centralia, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Hatzenbuehler.
    Visitation will be from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Vigil service will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the mortuary.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, with the Rev. Floyd McKinney presiding. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
    Memorials may be made to the B-29 All Veterans Memorial in care of the mortuary.
