The Pratt High School girls golf team hosted an Invitational with 10 schools in attendance Monday afternoon at Park Hills.
The Lady Greenbacks had a respectable showing, finishing in 4th place with 220 points.
Larned won the meet with 199. In second was Hoisington with 204. Russell barely edged out Pratt for 3rd with 218. Wilborn of Hoisington was the top individual with a 41.
Pratt’s Morgan Schmidt collected her 2nd silver medal on the season, carding a 44.
Teammate Lauren Beardsley was also a medalist for the second time, finishing 7th with a 48.
Joining Schmidt and Beardsley on the medal stand was Kayla Baer who placed 19th with a 61.
Rounding out the scoring for PHS was Shelby Richards who turned in a 67. Lexie Lanterman also competed on the varsity and posted a 73.
The girls scores’ were all roughly equivalent to the scores they posted two weeks ago at the vaunted Highlands, which is a testament to the difficulty at which Park Hills is currently playing.
Despite some tough holes, like #9 where it was difficult for several in the field to carry the gunch off the tee, the Lady Greenbacks persevered and competed well against some good golf teams.
In junior varsity action, Bailee Farr took the 11th place medal by carding a 66 on the back nine.
The Lady Greenbacks next match will be Thursday at Larned.
