Claudine Carol Cassidy, age 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt. She was born April 4, 1932 in Johnson, the daughter of Murl and Lottie (Westeman) Gibbens.

Claudine worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 30 years and retired in 1995. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

On Sept. 1, 1952, she married Leo "Gene" Cassidy at Wichita. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Marion Cassidy of Pratt, and Galen and wife Joanna Cassidy of Wichita; five grandchildren, Phillip (Yvonna Wilke-Cassidy) Cassidy, Christopher (Heather) Cassidy, Erin Cassidy, Brady (Joshua) Barnard and Sarah (Porter) Janovsky; five great-grandchildren, Addison Cassidy, Uriah Cassidy, Tanner Cox, Gary James Jr. and Christopher James-Wilke; two great-great-grandchildren, Phoenix James and Alarik Wilke; and two sisters, Vivian Hilgenfeld of Norman, Okla., and LaVeta Bengston of Holton.

She was preceded in death by a son, Garland 'Hop' Cassidy; three brothers, Marion, Clayton and Manford Gibbens; and one sister, Sybil Wilson.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.
