Edgar "Eddie" Joseph Sanders of Sautee, Ga., went to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 13, 2013. He was 75.

He was born April 11, 1938 in Pratt, the oldest son of Nahum and Goldie Sanders. He attended Glendale Grade School, Pratt High School and Pratt Junior College before graduating from Emporia State Teacher's College with a degree in business administration. Throughout school, Ed excelled in many sports including track, basketball and football.

On Jan. 15, 1961, he married Judith "Judy" Ann Money and began a successful career in sales management, living in Minneapolis, Minn., Chicago, Ill., Kansas City, Kan., and Atlanta, Ga. In 1987, he left the corporate world and moved to the mountains of northeast Georgia where he and Judy built a successful real estate company for the next 18 years of his life. He retired in 2007, but continued to love his mountain home in Sautee, Ga.

Mr. Sanders will be remembered for his generosity, helping many people throughout his life, especially those with addictions. He volunteered at the community thrift store, meals on wheels and nursing homes. He was an active member of several churches over the years. He loved the Lord, his family, Kansas Jayhawks basketball and music, especially Johnny Cash and gospel.
